Hail and excessive rain that occurred İstanbul and surrounding areas and continued for 20 minutes damaged hundreds of houses, offices and vehicles. On this occasion, Generali Sigorta has underlined the importance of insurance to insure assets of our country and ensure the continuity of life in case of unexpected disasters, and has announced that it will provide extra conveniences for claims processes in light of this perspective.

 

Mehmet Tümer, Generali Sigorta’s Assistant General Manager responsible from Technical Affairs, highlighted the importance of insurance on occasion of the recent hail and excessive rain, and said: “Thousands of houses, offices and automobiles were damaged due to recent hail events in İstanbul. As a result, most of our citizens suffered from losses to their houses and vehicles, which prompted us to take action as an insurance company. Unfortunately, such events always prove the importance of insurance for to safeguard of our assets. Losses are covered only when a victim owns necessary types of coverage in their insurance policies (homeowners, workplace, motor). As Generali Sigorta, we have done our part following the recent natural catastrophe without any hesitations; and completed our activities rapidly to make sure that no-claim bonuses of our customers will be protected during their renewals for homeowner’s and motor insurance policies even if they were damaged by the recent hail events.”
