A first in Turkey by AXA:

Personalized Motor Insurance

Pioneering Turkish insurance market with its innovative solutions, AXA Sigorta has launched its new motor own damage product “AXA GO” that uses telematics technology.  AXA GO is Turkey’s first and only kasko product offering personalized pricing based on driving habits. Drivers buying this product will be able to monitor their driving habits on a mobile application via a telematics device installed in their vehicles. The device will track whether the driver accelerates or brakes suddenly, exceeds speed limits, uses mobile phones while driving or takes sharp curves; all of which are habits imposing negative impacts on road safety. AXA GO provides feedbacks and assigns driving scores to drivers by analyzing the data on their driving habits. It also enables drivers to monitor the location of their vehicles, and sends them notifications in case their vehicles are towed, stolen or used without their consent. They will also be able to view all repair shops and technical services around their location whenever needed. First telematics policy of AXA GO was issued on March 26, and AXA began pilot sales for 1000 customers as of April.

Yavuz Ölken, CEO of Aksigorta, states AXA GO is an innovation and a result of their efforts towards road-safety, adding that the product will make a huge contribution to road safety and reduction of the number of fatal traffic accidents. He said: “AXA GO uses telematics technology unlike any other products, transforming it into a personalized insurance experience by analyzing driver behaviors.  Preliminary studies took nearly a full year, during which we have completed necessary tweaks by testing it on the vehicles of our coworkers.” Underlining that fatal traffic accidents and those resulting in material damage impose serious social and economic results on Turkey, Ölken added: “AXA Sigorta customers will be able to discover their mistakes that they normally do not realize while driving. Moreover, in accordance with the driving data we analyze, good drivers will benefit from a premium discount of up to 20 percent. At the moment, the product is sold to a limited number of customers; and we are planning to expand the customer base gradually.”
