Hosted by Milli Re, the “12th Milli Re Reinsurance Seminar” was organized in between 7 and 9 May 2018 with 27 participants from Bahrain, China, Ethiopia, Qatar, Kenya, Egypt, Pakistan, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Tunisia and Jordan.

On the first day of the seminar, Kaan Acun, Assistant General Manager at Milli Re, gave an opening speech focusing on Milli Re and its position in the market.

The speech was followed by an informatory presentation by Ahmet Çelebiler on reinsurance and risk management. After this presentation, Aylin Kocatürk (Milli Re) and Güneş Karakoyunlu (Milli Re) made presentations on “FAIR Non-Life Reinsurance Pool” and “Turkish Insurance Market”, respectively.

During the afternoon of the first day, Esen Temiz (Milli Re) delivered a speech on “How to Determine Retention”, followed by Çetin Alanya (Milli Re), who presented a report on “Pricing Proportional Reinsurance Treaties”. 

On the second day, Esen Temiz (Milli Re) informed the participants about “Pricing Non-Proportional Reinsurance Treaties”, conducting an additional workshop within the scope of her presentation.

In the second half of the second day, Graham Crane (Willis Re) and Nick Benardout (Pembrocke Underwriting at Lloyds) hosted a workshop called “Reinsurance Game”.

Final day of the seminar was allocated for a touristic visit to Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia Museum, Nur-u Osmaniye Mosque and Grand Bazaar.

Milli Re plans to continue organizing “Milli Re Reinsurance Seminar” in the coming years with further improvements.
