3 million 849 thousand auto-enrollment participants in BES as of the end of Q1

 


At the end of the first quarter of this year, total number of participants in BES (Individual Pension System) reached 6 million 948 thousand; and 3 million 849 of them have participated in the system via auto-enrollment. Total fund size of the system stood at 17 billion 714 million USD; and 609 million 103 thousand USD was contributed by the participants who participated via auto-enrollment. 


According to the statistics announced by the Pension Monitoring Center as of 23.03.2018, 25 thousand 585 new participants entered in the Individual Pension System (BES) during the first three months of this year. Therefore, total number of participants in the system grew by 2.97 percent over the same period of last year, reaching 6 million 948 thousand people. At the end of Q1, 3 million 849 thousand people participated in the system via auto-enrollment, which accounted for 55.4 percent of the total number of participants that joined the system in this quarter. Number of intermediaries reached 45 thousand 104.


As of the end of Q1, total fund size grew in TL based results by 22.92 percent, reaching 17 billion 714 million USD. Fund size of participants that entered the system via auto-enrollment stood at 609 million 103 thousand USD. Total amount of contributions reached 13 billion 715 million USD, and number of contracts reached 8 million 204 thousand.

Garanti Emeklilik ve Hayat closed the first quarter as market leader in terms of participants, increasing the number of its participants up to 1 million 211 thousand and a share of 17.44 percent. Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik followed as second with 1 million 146 thousand participants and a market share of 16.50 percent. AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat ranked third with a market share of 12.62 percent and number of participants standing at 876 thousand 950.


On the other hand, Ziraat Hayat ve Emeklilik ranked first in terms of participants joining via auto-enrollment with 735 thousand 103 people. Halk Hayat ve Emeklilik followed as second with 526 thousand 613 participants; and Vakıf Emeklilik ranked third with 471 thousand 144 participant. 


AvivaSa Emeklilik ve Hayat maintained its leadership position with a share of 19.62 percent and a fund volume of 3 billion 476 million USD. Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik followed as second with a fund size of 3 billion 290 million USD and a market share of 18.57 percent. Garanti Emeklilik ve Hayat was the third company in the ranking with a market share of 15.01 percent and a fund volume of 2 billion 658 million USD.


Ziraat Emeklilik ve Hayat was also the leader of fund size gained from auto-enrollment participants, which reached 143 million 908 thousand USD at the end of the first quarter; followed by Halk Emeklilik with 102 million 464 thousand USD and Vakıf Emeklilik ve Hayat with 82 million 614 thousand USD.
