MetLife has announced that they will continue to cooperate with Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity with the aim of helping its employees working at EMEA markets volunteer for social projects.
4.000 MetLife employees working in 26 EMEA countries were invited to either one of those two events that will be organized within the scope of Society Week, which starts in the middle of May. In this respect, employees will be able to volunteer for Special Olympics to engage in activities with special athletes, or Habitat for Humanity to support construction or renovation projects for disadvantageous regions.
In Turkey, 34 MetLife volunteers attended MetLife and Special Olympics Turkey event, which was organized under the motto of “Game Together, Life Together”; and they gathered with special athletes. MetLife volunteers and special athletes played Floorball, a fun team-game; and had a chance to embrace life all together.
The initiative is financed by MetLife Foundation, MetLife’s aid organization. MetLife Foundation has a long-term tradition of supporting initiatives that make it possible for MetLife volunteers to participate in activities aiming to increase the life standards of the disadvantageous segments of society and offering them new opportunities.
Deniz Yurtseven, CEO of MetLife Emeklilik ve Hayat, gave a statement about the activities organized in Turkey within the scope of Society Week and said: “As a part of the ‘Society Week’ we initiated simultaneously in all EMEA countries we operate in; we are extremely happy to have realized this cooperation for the 3rd time this year through Special Olympics Turkey, an organization that aims to introduce individuals with special educational needs to society. Together with the special athletes attending the vent, we shout out “Game Together, Life Together”. As the MetLife family, we are really proud to be supporting them.”
