AXA Sigorta is the main sponsor

of Kupa Voley

 
 

AXA Sigorta became the title sponsor of the Kupa Voley 2018-2019, which is organized by the Turkish Volleyball Federation. Formerly called Turkish Cup, the tournament is now called Kupa Voley. This year will be the 19th organization for women’s and 26th for men’s teams. Sponsorship agreements for the tournament were signed on 25 September 2018. The signature ceremony was attended by Yavuz Ölken, CEO of AXA Sigorta; Mehmet Üstündağ, Chairman of Turkish Football Federation; and Firüzan İşcan, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Axa Sigorta. Focusing on health and well-being activities in recent years, AXA Sigorta intends to work on inspiring the society for a more active lifestyle within the scope of this sponsorship. The Kupa Voley tournament will be participated by 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams. Men’s teams will compete between 22 December 2018 and 17 March 2019, while women’s teams will compete between 4 January 2018 and 24 March 2019.

 

Firuzan İşcan, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Axa Sigorta, gave the opening speech of the meeting and said: “For years, AXA has worked with the mission of making a contribution for people to lead better lives. Therefore, we attach great importance to building partnerships that will create value for this mission. Kupa Voley games that will begin in December for the 2018-2019 season, will reach millions of sport lovers via tribunes, live broadcasts and media contents.  We will try to contribute to increasing interest in the tournament and volleyball sport, by organizing activities in and out of the volleyball field in cities that will host the tournament. We would like to thank Turkish Volleyball Federation for offering us this opportunity.”

 

Yavuz Ölken, CEO of Aksigorta, gave a speech during the signature ceremony, stating that AXA works towards becoming a brand for healthcare and bases its related activities on UN Sustainable Development Goals. He added as follows: “As the leading asset management and financial protection company of the world, we have a global power and bear big responsibilities. Within the scope of ‘Good Health and Well-Being’ goal of UN Sustainable Development Goals, we support projects that will inspire people to lead healthier and more active lives. Moreover, traditional insurance approach is changing. Our customers now expect us to take preventive steps before the losses occur. We believe that sport is one of those preventive measures and that it makes an influence on mental health as well as physical health. Therefore, supporting projects that will inspire people to adopt more active lifestyles is a part of our job and our duty as a company.” Saying that in recent years both women’s and men’s teams have acquired national and international achievements in volleyball; Ölken added: “As a former volleyball player, I am sure that our players will gain much bigger achievements for our country when they receive greater support.”
