BNP Paribas Cardif Turkey became the main sponsor of “4th Inter-High School 3D Printing Workshop and Competition”, which was hosted by Darüşşafaka Schools. The competition is organized with the aim of increasing the use of 3D printers for social benefit while strengthening innovative thinking and design, and upskilling students in different areas such as design and software. This year, 24 teams from 20 different high schools competed in Inter-High School 3D Printing Workshop and Competition.
High-school students became acquainted with 3D printers and were trained by experts on how to use them during 16 and 17 March. After this training, each team was assigned with projects, for which they were requested to develop their own business ideas. A group of mentors, which also included 2 employees from Cardif, supported the teams during these workshops. Products formed in 3D printers were evaluated in the finals by a group of judges, one of whom was Gökhan Sertsöz, Assistant General Manager of Bancassurance and Agencies at BNP Paribas Cardif. Private Sezin High School, İstanbul Science and Art Center and SEV American College were the top three teams that won the competition, respectively. Şişli Occupational Technical Anatolian High School was entitled to receive the Special Innovation Award.
Gökhan Sertsöz, Executive Vice President at BNP Paribas Cardif, said: “Being beneficial to society is a significant part of our mission as Cardif Turkey. On the other hand, we prioritize human and innovation at the highest level; and work for social responsibility projects that will make a contribution to our society. Hosted by Darüşşafaka Schools, this project for 3D design and production, reveals the bright vision of our youth who can design the future from today. Being able to support them is an exciting opportunity that fills us with pride. We will keep supporting young people who will carry our country to a bright future, and therefore, making contribution to education, innovation and our society.”
