Doğa Sigorta, strong and local brand of Turkish insurance market, has crowned its sponsorship for Galatasaray Basketball team with an impressive social responsibility project. The sponsorship agreement started in the season of 2018/2019 and continues for the season 2019/2020. 

Doğa Sigorta has always organized new events and surprises in the games such as Lion Doğa mascot shows, spectacular dance shows by Doğa Sigorta Girls, and gifts distributed to the fans. The company now crowns its sponsorship for Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta Basketball Team with a meaningful social responsibility project.

Always underlining the fact that experiencing the achievements of basketball and other amateur branches by standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the teams reflects the real meaning of sponsorship, Doğa Sigorta has been supporting several local, amateur and university clubs for long years with the aim of ensuring that young people love sports and successful players are raised in our country, being a company with high awareness of social responsibility projects that acts in accordance with the principle “as the twig is bent so is the tree inclined.”

With the happiness of having paved the way for supporting sports and creation of new sponsorships in the insurance market, Doğa Sigorta entertained 10 young candidate basketball players from Şanlıurfa in İstanbul. 

The project was conducted for the most successful basketball players in their age group. The group was accompanied in İstanbul by their physical education teachers İbrahim Aybar and Sema Karamustafa, who have opened the way for their students to achieve despite all the limited and challenging circumstances in the area with their belief, discipline and determination.

After the children and their teachers met with Seda Güler, Corporate Communications Manager of Doğa Sigorta, in Şanlıurfa and toured the magnificent and beautiful city together; they traveled to İstanbul as a group. The group of boys and girls aged between 12 and 14 met with the players and technical managers of Glatasaray Doğa Sigorta Basketball Team. They experienced the pride and excitement of training with the team and had an unforgettable experience in İstanbul.

The next day, they watched the Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta’s basketball game from the Doğa Sigorta VIP Lodge and also enjoyed watching Lion Doğa and Doğa Sigorta Girls which turned the game into a fun and exciting experience.

Nihat Kırmızı, Chairman of Doğa Sigorta and a young and prominent name in the business world who is known for the importance he attaches to sports and sport players, met with the children in person and conversed with each of them. The children also had a chance to meet with Mustafa Cengiz, Chairman of Galatasaray Sports Club.

Most of the children saw İstanbul for the first time, therefore they were taken to a special boat tour to enjoy the Bosporus and see the historical and significant masterpieces in the city. 

Following this meaningful visit, young basketball players stated that they acquired brand new dreams and were much more motivated to reach their targets. They said Doğa Sigorta created a very important and meaningful project, which helped them understand the value of sports and what it brought into their lives. They went back to their homes after getting the promise of meeting with Doğa Sigorta managers once again.
