Insurance companies join hands for Hatay

 
 

 

Recent forest fires experienced in Hatay have deeply wounded all of us as a society. After the events that seriously damaged a lot of forest lands, insurance market has initiated a campaign that relived everyone. Insurance companies have joined hands to restore the destroyed forests in Hatay, and donated saplings by challenging each other on social media. They displayed a beautiful example of social responsibility by not keeping silent against fire disasters that deeply wounded our society and by joining forces under the hashtag #HatayİçinElEle (hand-in-hand for Hatay). Support for the campaign continues to grow.
Recent fires that broke out in Hatay deeply wounded the conscious of our society. Insurance market has not kept silent against the upsetting attack against our forests, the most important resources for the future of our world; and made everyone happy by initiating a social media campaign with the hashtag #HatayİçinElEle. As a sector that has always been in the frontlines when it comes to civic involvement and social responsibility, insurance market has once again joined hands for Hatay.


Insurance companies have started donating saplings with the aim of restoring the damaged and destroyed forest lands in Hatay. #HatayİçinElEle donation campaign was launched by Koru Sigorta, and has so far received support from Quick Sigorta, Axa Sigorta, HDI Sigorta, Türk Nippon Sigorta, Türkiye Sigorta, Anadolu Sigorta, Allianz Türkiye, Aksigorta, Doğa Sigorta and Groupama Sigorta. The movement has also reflected widely on the agents who started supporting the campaign. #HatayİçinElEle campaign continues to grow.


Koru Sigorta challenged Quick Sigorta by donating 2017 saplings for the campaign. Quick Sigorta donated 2023 saplings, giving the message “We are restoring our country’s forests” and challenging Axa Sigorta. Axa Sigorta supported the campaign by donating 2030 saplings and passed the baton to HDI Sigorta. HDI Sigorta donated 2500 saplings and chose to challenge Türk Nippon Sigorta, which donated 2600 saplings and challenged Türkiye Sigorta, the new player in the market. Türkiye Sigorta donated 2620 saplings, which equals to the number of its employees, and challenged Anadolu Sigorta. Anadolu Sigorta supported the campaign by donating 2700 saplings and inviting Allianz Turkey for further support. Allianz Turkey donated 2750 saplings, and then challenged Aksigorta, which donated 2810 saplings and challenged Groupama Sigorta. Groupama Sigorta joined the campaign with 2900 saplings, and invited Ankara Sigorta to support this challenge. Doğa Sigorta also decided to join by donating 2000 saplings.

     
Minister Pakdemirli invites everyone to reforestation


Bekir Pakdemirli, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, stated that the lands that were burnt in Hatay and surrounding districts last weekend were under constitutional protection: “Not even 1 square meter of burnt areas shall be used for other purposes, all the lands that were destroyed in this fire will be replanted with forest trees. I hereby invite all our citizens who wish to make a contribution to reforestation of burnt lands in Hatay to plant saplings with us on November 11, National Forestation Day, within the scope of #GeleceğeNefes (A breath for future) campaign,” he said. Pakdemirli also thanked every one of the organizations, sports clubs, companies, municipalities, NGOs, art world and all citizens.
