Francis Desmazes will be appointed as the new CEO of Groupama Sigorta A.Ş and Groupama Emeklilik A.Ş. –Groupama Group’s companies in Turkey- to replace Ramazan Ülger, who will resign from his duties as of 30 April 2017.

Francis Desmazes will be appointed in his new position as of 1 May 2017, subject to regulatory approvals. He began his career as an auditor at Ernst&Young. He joined the Groupama Group at GAN Assurance as the Chief Auditor of International Subsidiaries and continued his career at the international subsidiaries of GAN Assurances. He worked as CFO and CIO at Morocco; as the Secretary General, CFO and CIO, and Chief Deputy CEO in Italy; and as CEO in Spain. He later worked in France, as the Director of Eastern & Southeastern Europe and Africa Regions at Directorate International. In 2000, he worked as the CEO of Allianz’s subsidiaries in Venezuela and Columbia; and was appointed as the President of the subsidiary in Columbia. After that, he returned to Allianz France and worked as the International Assistant Director & Allianz African Growth Director and Director General of Allianz Senegal, respectively.
