Exhibition: Whistling Man
Compiled from Ara Güler Archive and Research Center, the ex-
hibition “Whistling Man” follows biographical elements in light
of historical context, while at the same inviting visitors to reread
Ara Güler’s visual narration over his productions in different ar-
eas. The exhibition also focuses on how Ara Güler interpreted
İstanbul’s city history, and records of periods that shaped the
individual and social memory of this geography, as an artist who
gained recognition in the international media with his photo-
graphs especially from İstanbul and Turkish geography. It em-
phasizes the importance of reading Ara Güler’s world as a whole
as an artist who produces, writes, records and tells.

Exhibition “Whistling Man” can be visited until 15 November
2018 free of charge at Ara Güler Museum, which was founded
with the aim of sharing the artist’s multidimensional artist iden-
tity and inspiring life with the future generations as Turkey’s first
photography artist museum on international standards.
