After resigning from his duty as the General Manager of Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası, Osman Çelik was appointed as the Undersecretary of Treasury.
Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek gave a statement on the appointment and said: “I have signed the decree regarding the appointment of Osman Çelik, former General Manager of Türkiye Finans, as the Undersecretary of Treasury.” Saying that Çelik is a successful economist with experience in the private sector, Mehmet Şimşek wished him good luck at his new position. Osman Çelik resigned from his duties as the Board Member and General Manager of Türkiye Finans, one of the longstanding corporations of participation banking, on 27 June.
The position of Undersecretary of Treasury was being conducted by proxy since the end of 2014, when İbrahim Çanakçı was appointed as Executive Director at IMF. Born in Erzincan in 1964, Osman Çelik studied economics at Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences. |
