MetLife offers contribution to employee health with Global Corporate Challenge Program

 

MetLife (NYSE: MET) carries its commitment to health at workplace by joining GCC (Global Corporate Challenge), a program that works with global companies to improve employee health and performance. 

Within this framework, more than 200 thousand employees from MetLife EMEA region have begun GCC’s 2016 program. MetLife employees will compete against 340 thousand employees from companies all around the world in teams of seven people.  

MetLife Turkey participated in the program with 56 employees, constituting 8 teams of 7 people each.  

Every team member joining GCC is given “GCC Pulse,” a wearable tracking device to register their movements and activities throughout the day. Personal target of each MetLife employee is to take 10 thousand steps every day. The more active MetLife employees in the challenge are, the further they can get in their virtual tour around the world as a team.  

Joining GCC is a part of the global initiative called “Health for Life” which aims to support the health and happiness of MetLife employees worldwide.   

Michel Khalaf, President of Europe, Middle East & Africa for MetLife, gave statement on the initiative, and said: “Our employees have explained us the importance of health at workplace for them. Being a part of this innovative and entertaining program with GCC is an amazing opportunity for them to internalize a healthy lifestyle. We aim to encourage our employees in the EMEA Region to engage in physical activities, have a balanced diet and better sleep, obtain a more positive perspective; in other words a live a healthier life in every way.”
