Allianz Group has taken the leading position among all rated insurance companies in this year’s Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Monitoring the performances of companies around the world that focus on sustainability, Dow Jones Sustainability Index ranks companies according to environmental, social and governance criteria, assessing their sustainability strategy and performance.

Baete: “We have maintained our position among the very best and became the market leader of sustainability”

Stating that Allianz took the 1st place in the insurance sector with 87 out of 100 points, Oliver Baete, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz, said: “For 17 consecutive years, we have maintained our position among the very best. Dow Jones Sustainability Index lets Allianz provide investors and stakeholders with transparency about our social responsibility strategies and performance. We are extremely proud of this result.”

Underlining that Allianz set ambitious goals for the coming years, Oliver Baate added as follows: “We started with the integration of ESG factors into our business early on and have continuously improved. We also set ambitious goals for the coming years and would like to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Sustainability rankings such as the DJSI are important tools for Allianz to provide investors and stake-holders with transparency about the strategies and performance of corporate responsibility.”
