Fundación MAPFRE was awarded for its Healthy Living Project within the scope of 9th Corporate Social Responsibility Marketplace Sustainable Development Academy Awards, in the category of ‘healthy individuals’. During the event organized by the Corporate Social Responsibility Foundation of Turkey, companies and institutions conducting projects and studies in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals of United Nations were rewarded. Fundación MAPFRE’s Healthy Living Project, which was initiated in 2014 with the aim of creating a difference about balanced diet and encouraging healthy nourishment in children between the ages of 5 and 7, reached out to 27 thousand 808 children and 1021 teachers at 123 schools in Marmara Region.

Gökgöl Gümüş, Head of Internal Communication and Social Responsibility Department at Mapfre Turkey, gave a statement about the reward and said: “First of all, I would like to state that we are proud to have been entitled to this award. Within the scope of Healthy Living Project, Fundación MAPFRE has organized workshops to share tips about healthy nutrition and sport habits with kindergarten students and first and second-year students at primary schools, with the aim of teaching children the importance of a balanced diet at early ages, contributing to a healthy generation, and decreasing the frequency of obesity cases. Those children have learned about the importance of healthy nutrition and daily physical exercises through songs and games, and had a lot of fun with our professional actors and actresses at the same time. Furthermore, we have presented the teachers and students a story and activity book named “Has Your Sweater Shrunk?” which was prepared especially for this project. We have taken a significant step for future generations with our Healthy Living Project; and our target is to reach higher number of children across Turkey. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed in our efforts that led us to this award.”
