Environmental policies that have a great role in sustainable development approach aim to expand the use of renewable energy resources by protecting natural resources. As one of the energy resources that exists as a part of nature, solar power is getting increasingly important for Turkey, just like for the rest of the world.
In accordance with this vision, ERGO Turkey has carried Solar Power Central Insurance to a new dimension, as a product developed to increase the use of renewable energy sources. Last year, the company had provided coverage for performance losses due to insufficient luminescence, which was the first example in the market. ERGO has now signed a cooperation agreement with CW Enerji, the leading solar panel manufacturer listed among Turkey’s 500 Biggest Industrial Enterprises. The transaction was carried out through Kotra Sigorta, Antalya Agent of ERGO Sigorta. This agreement entrusts the efficiency of CW Energy’s solar panels to ERGO Turkey for a term of 25 years.
Yıldırım Türe, Executive Committee Member of ERGO Turkey, stated that as one of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, climate change was also a part of ERGO Group’s environmental responsibility approach. He said: “As a principle, we always act with the sustainability vision developed by ERGO Group and our stakeholder Munich RE. Corporate social responsibility activities that are globally expanded by our Group are mainly shaped around the fight against climate change. I support this cooperation built with CW Enerji Mühendislik, Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. by our Antalya agent Kotra Sigorta with all my heart.”
