Within the scope of their strategy to be the pioneer of new generation insurance, Allianz Turkey continues to support the development of insurance technologies that have gained more and more importance in the ecosystem of global entrepreneurship and innovative technology. Organized in this respect, the event called “X Factor in Insurance: Insurtech Opportunities for Startups” focused on topics such as promising technologies in the insurance field, opportunities insurance technologies bring for investors and startups, insurtech investors in Turkey and rest of the world, potential of AI (artificial intelligence) technologies in finance, health and insurance sectors.

Insurance is a gate for other sectors

The event was organized in cooperation with İTÜ Çekirdek Early Stage Incubation Center on 27 June 2018 at İTÜ MAGNET, Advanced-Level Entrepreneurship Center located inside İTÜ ARI Teknokent. Melike Demirel, Director of Allianz Turkey’s Innovation Office, said in her statement that the connection between insurance companies and startups would bring unique acquisitions for both sides. She said: “Insurance is a field requiring technical knowledge and expertise. However, with the extensity of its business model and the richness of value it creates, it also acts as a gate that opens up for other sectors. Therefore, working with the insurance industry is of great importance for startups. We believe that this might trigger the innovation insurance market needs.”
