Actuarial Society of Turkey becomes full member of the Actuarial

Association of Europe

Actuarial Society of Turkey has been accepted as the full member of the Actuarial Association of Europe. Taylan Matkap, Chairman of the Actuarial Society of Turkey, gave a statement about this new development and said: “During the 41st General Assembly of the Actuarial Association of Europe, which was held in Utrecht (The Netherlands) on 21 September 2018, it was decided to organize an electronic election for full membership. As a result of this electronic voting, Actuarial Society of Turkey became a full member of the Actuarial Association of Europe.”

Matkap continued as follows: “Actuarial Association of Europe (AEE) was founded in 1978 with the aim of representing actuarial professional organizations in member countries of the European Union, and making recommendations to several organs of the European Union about actuarial issues in accordance with the EU legislation. The Association represents 36 professional organizations, 35 European countries, and nearly 25 thousand actuaries. Full membership of Actuarial Association of Europe brings crucial advantages for actuaries who are members of professional actuarial organizations through Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA). According to the mutual recognition agreement of Actuarial Association of Europe, which came into force as of 1 January 2011, actuaries who are members of the full members of AEE get a chance to work in other European countries.”
