Major changes at Güneş Sigorta senior management team

 
 

 

As the long-established and innovative company of the insurance market, Güneş Sigorta continues to strengthen its senior management with leaders who are experts in their own fields 
Güneş Sigorta initiated a restructured and dynamic working approach last year, and immediately saw the positive reflections on their results by reclaiming its place among the top 5 companies of Turkish insurance market. In this respect, the company appointed Bilal Türkmen as the Executive Vice President of Strategy and Transformation, and Fatih Yıldız as the Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Training, Procurement and Administrative Services. Moreover, Atakan Bektaş was assigned as the Executive Vice President of Financial Management, while Doğukan Karakaya was assigned as the Executive Vice President of Bankassurance Sales and Marketing.


About Bilal Türkmen

After graduating from Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School, Bilal Türkmen studied statistics at Hacettepe University, and then received Bachelor’s degree from Akdeniz University on Business Administration. He began his career in Germany as a research analyst at Atheneum Partners, a management consultancy company. He entered the insurance market within the scope of Aksigorta’s Management Trainee program. In 2012, he was appointed by Turkish Treasury and worked as Treasury Specialist at the General Directorate of Insurance. In October 2018, he was transferred to Eureko Sigorta, Technical and Administrative Manager of DASK, and worked as Deputy Secretary General of Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool (DASK). 
He joined Güneş Sigorta in August 2019 as the Group Manager responsible from Strategy & Process Improvement & Project Management & Corporate Communication; and was assigned as the Executive Vice President of Strategy and Transformation as of June 2020.


About Fatih Yıldız
Having graduated from Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations Department at Cumhuriyet University, Fatih Yıldız began his career at Finansbank in 2005.
Between 2007 and 2013, he worked at Yıldız Holding Retail Group as Human Resources Specialist, and later Human Resources and Training Manager of Bizim Toptan Satış Mağazaları. He worked as Human Resources Manager at Şok Marketler Ticaret between 2013 and 2015, and Human Resources Manager at Bizim Toptan Satış Mağazaları between 2013 and 2015.
Fatih Yıldız worked as the Human Resources Manager of Bereket Sigorta and Bereket Hayat ve Emeklilik in 2018. He joined Güneş Sigorta on 17 June 2019 as Group Manager of Human Resources, Training, Procurement and Administrative Services, and was appointed as the Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Training, Procurement and Administrative Services as of 15 June 2020.


About Atakan Bektaş
Atakan Bektaş graduated from Middle East Technical University in 1998 where he studied mining engineering. He received his MBA degree from Ufuk University between 2009 and 2011.
Atakan Bektaş attended the banking training program at Banking School of Ziraat Bank in 1998. He then worked at Ziraat Bank as specialist at Internal Control Department, assistant manager and then manager at General Accounting and Reporting Department, after which he was appointed as the head of the same department in 2012. He continued his career in the Bank as the Head of Financial Reporting and Budget Management between May 2015 and October 2018, and as the Head of Financial Management between October 2018 and November 2018. He also served the Bank as a member of Audit Committee and BoD at Ziraat Bank Uzbekistan, Turkmen Turkish Bank, and Ziraat Bank Bosnia.
He has been working as the Assistant General Manager of Financial Coordination at Ziraat Sigorta and Ziraat Hayat ve Emeklilik since February 2019 and was also appointed as the Executive Vice President of Financial Management at Güneş Sigorta as of 15 June 2020. In addition to his existing duties, he is also a Board Member at Türk P&I Sigorta, and Chairman of the Fund Committee of Ziraat, Halk and Vakıf Emeklilik Investment Funds.


About Doğukan Karakaya
Having graduated from Department of Insurance at Marmara University in 2004, Doğukan Karakaya received an MBA degree from Yeditepe University in 2010.
Doğukan Karakaya began his career as a “Management Trainee” in Retail Banking at Garanti Bank in 2003. He worked at Marsh&Mclennan company between 2005 and 2008, and in Corporate Banking and Loans Unit at Garanti Bank between 2008 and 2009.
As of 2009, he joined Sompo Sigorta (Sompo Insurance) and worked at several positions including Reinsurance and Business Development, Corporate Technical, Product Management and Marketing departments. His most recent position at Sompo Sigorta was the Marketing Director. He has knowledge and expertise in Product and Campaign Management, Digital Applications and Platforms Management, Digital Sales, Digital Communication/Social Media Management and Corporate Communication units. Furthermore, he has taken active roles in many domestic and foreign projects and trainings in those areas.
On June 22, 2020, he was appointed as the Executive Vice President of Bancassurance Sales and Marketing at Güneş Sigorta.
