AXA was named as the second most responsible insurer in 2020 in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), which ranks the world's largest companies for sustainability.

AXA improved its ranking in the insurance sector by moving up from third place in 2019 to second place in 2020 in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, becoming the second most responsible insurer of 2020. The Group takes part in DSJI since 2007; and as of 2020 AXA’s global score reached 88/100, an increase of 5 points compared with last year. The company has reached this score by making progress in two criteria covered by the ranking: +8 points in "Governance and Economic", +3 points in "Social". The company has therefore increased its ratings in the dimensions of “Information Security/Cybersecurity”, “Human Capital Development” and “Customer Relationship Management”.

Yavuz Ölken, CEO of AXA Sigorta, stated that corporate responsibility has been a part of their DNA at AXA. “In this respect, we are carrying out projects that will minimize our direct or indirect environmental impact, create awareness and make a contribution to social life. We design all of our products, services, processes and projects in accordance with our approach called ‘Earth-Friendly Insurance’. As a part of our Green Office project, we are committed to reducing our carbon emissions by 25 percent, our wastes and water consumption by 15 percent until 2025. We have been inviting our distribution channels to take part in this effort, and asking them to play an active role in fight against climate change through our ‘Earth-Friendly Agent’ program. In line with those efforts, we offer ‘Earth-Friendly Workplace Insurance’ that offers price advantage and additional assistance services for workplaces that have Green Office and LEED certifications. This year, we have launched a new program called “Exercise for Earth” within the scope of our social responsibility strategy. The program aims to emphasize that the value an active life creates for personal health can also be created for the immunity of our planet in terms of climate crisis. We invite people to use the resources of our planet less, and their own energy more. In addition to ecological sustainability, we take significant steps towards maintaining gender equality both in and outside of our company. We have been materializing our essential principles such as equality of opportunities by maintaining the rate of our female employees at 52.2 percent. We are aware that making the voices of women strong in business life does not only contribute to social equality but also to economic robustness; therefore, we support women-led companies and business by offering them our product called ‘Entrepreneurship Insurance for Women’.
