Poland
Poland, which is the 9th-largest by area in
Europe and the 71st largest in the world with
its area of 312,685 square meters, is the 37th
most populated country in the world with its
population of 38.185.913. The country that
became a member of the European Union in
2004 is growing with an increase in export while
maintaining its development thanks to its industry
and underground sources
Poland which has a border to Germany at the west and is located in central Eu-
rope has an area of 312,685 square meters. The Boundary line of the country is
3 thousand 71 kilometers. Poland which is approximately twice Georgia in its
size is bordered by Belarus, Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Ukraine, Lith-
uania, and Russia. The country has a temperate climate with storms in summer,
although the land is mostly flat, the southern frontier is mountainy. While most
of the population have settled around Warsaw, the capital, the south of Kraków
and Lódz, the country has a risk of floods and environmental disasters such as
water and air pollution.
Approximately, 48 percent of the land is known as agricultural land and 30
percent as forest. While the agricultural sector is not developed due to narrow
fields and lack of investment, in Poland where half of its territory is eligible for
agriculture, potato, fruits, vegetables, white beet, rye, wheat, barley, egg are
produced, and pig and cattle farming is carried out. In Poland in which dairies
are often seen, poultry raising is also one of the important activities.
A country rich in underground sources
In Poland which is rich in underground sources, coal mining is carried out in
Upper and Lower Silesia. There are sulfur deposits in the southeast and zinc
and lead, silver, and amber deposits in Katowice. Brown coal, rock salt, natural
gas, and copper are also produced in the country. Poland which meets its oil
and iron need from other countries is a developed industrial country. Iron steel,
machine, vehicles, chemical agents, cotton weaving, paper, metal products,
