TOBB SAİK Sheds Light on the Future of Insurance Agents at the saz2026 Insurance Intermediaries Summit
The TOBB Insurance Agents Executive Committee (SAİK) played an active role as a Participation Partner at the saz2026 Insurance Intermediaries Summit, which brought together leading figures shaping the future of the insurance industry. Speaking at the opening of the summit, Levent Korkut, Chairman of TOBB SAİK, highlighted the key areas of transformation facing the industry and emphasised that expanding the insurance market should be a shared priority for all stakeholders.
Korkut stated that the insurance industry should focus its energy on acquiring new customers and addressing areas with protection gaps, rather than preserving existing market shares. He also noted that, in response to changing customer expectations and technological advances, the traditional approach to insurance intermediation is giving way to an advisory model centred on risk analysis.
Korkut noted that digitalisation and artificial intelligence technologies are fundamentally transforming the way the insurance industry operates, adding that hybrid models which integrate technology into their processes—rather than resisting it—will shape the future of the sector. He stated that insurance agents who improve operational efficiency, provide greater advisory value to their customers and make effective use of technology will gain a competitive advantage.
The summit’s first panel, titled “Next-Generation Agency Models: Scaling, Small Offices, Institutionalisation and Structural Transformation,” focused on the future of insurance agencies. Speaking during the session, moderated by Cem Yılmazer, General Manager of BEST Publishing, Levent Korkut pointed out that younger generations have grown up in a digital world and emphasised that a hybrid agency model combining technology with human interaction will become the defining model of the future.
The panel explored the importance of institutionalisation, economies of scale, digital transformation and customer experience-driven business models for the sustainable growth of the insurance agency profession. Participants also agreed that the advisory role of insurance agents will become even more prominent in the future of the industry.
Throughout the saz2026 Insurance Intermediaries Summit, the sessions explored the transformation of insurance distribution channels from a range of perspectives. TOBB SAİK also shared its vision for the future of the industry with participants, making a significant contribution to the summit’s collaborative dialogue.
