AXA Sigorta is one of the Best Workplaces in Turkey for the fifth time

2017 results of the “Best Workplaces in Turkey” benchmark study, which is organized every year by Great Place to Work Institute, were announced. According to the study conducted with the participation of 92 companies and 24.000 employees, AXA Sigorta was selected as one of the Best Workplaces in Turkey under the “500-2000 Employees Category” for the fifth time. Conducted on an annual basis with the attendance of thousands of employers and millions of employees across the world, the benchmark study measures the trust of employees in their company leaders, how proud they are of their jobs, and camaraderie within the workplace.

Guillaume Lejeune, CEO and Board Member of AXA Sigorta, stated that this title was a result of their successful and innovative human resources practices and consequent high employee satisfaction; adding that this award was not coincidental. Underlining the importance of other factors to be considered by employers in addition to the salaries, fringe benefits and working conditions; Lejeune said that employees should be presented with opportunities to express themselves and their needs. He said: “Our coworkers can make a difference in a workplace where they feel they belong and are happy. We adopt a ‘Trust and Success Culture’ in line with our global philosophy ‘AXA Passion’ and we always shape our efforts accordingly. Communication lies in the center of all corporate processes and we try to provide a workplace that enables communication on all levels. We have a corporate culture that eliminates bureaucracy and hierarchy. For instance, as a part of orientation for new employees, we organize breakfast events where I have a chance to meet them personally. We work in open offices and conduct projects to make our offices more pleasant and healthy to work in.”

Guillaume Lejeune added that more than 50 percent of their coworkers who began to work in AXA Sigorta in recent years are from the Generation Y, and 50 percent of all their employees were women. He stated that they made annual surveys to better understand the expectations and needs of their employees in the constantly changing working culture. Lejeune also said that they improved global development opportunities as well as short and long term working opportunities abroad; adding that they put real effort in providing equality of men and women. Stating that AXA Sigorta conducted projects to increase the motivation of their employees and maintain the balance between their private and working lives; he said: “For instance, our coworkers who become fathers can take a leave of 4 weeks to support their wives. To make life easier for new mothers, we decrease their workload by 10 percent every week, in addition to their maternity leave of 4 months.” He underlined the importance of trainings and programs provided for the personal developments of their employees; and he said that they also organize corporate social responsibility projects that can be participated by their employees so that they can achieve ‘self-fulfillment’. Lejeune finalized his words by saying that performance assessment and personal development topics took a major part in their human resources processes; and added that they held various competitions within the company to encourage creativity.
