Serving farmers and producers in our country for more than 10 years, TARSİM (Agriculture Insurance Pool) continues its stable growth. TARSİM announced that premium volume within State Supported Agricultural Insurance grew by 19 percent during the first six months of this year compared to the same period of last year. Number of policies increased to 1.4 million, sum insured stood at 22 billion TL, size of insured lands grew to 21 million decares; and the number of insured cattle, sheep and goats increased by 29 percent, reaching 1.2 million.

The announcement stated that Province-Based Draught Productivity Insurance which was included in the coverage as of 2017 for wheat product, attracted a good deal of interest from farmers and producers; underlining that nearly 70 thousand policies were issued in this line during the first half of the year.

As a result of 225 thousand claims files received so far, 226 million TL was paid for farmers and producers whose files have been processed within the scope of General Conditions, Tariff and Instructions. 476 million TL will be paid in the coming days in accordance with the policy expiry dates of products. Hail, frost and storm were the most common reasons for loss; while apricot, wheat, nut, and grapes were the most common products in the claims. And highest amount of losses were reported in Malatya, Manisa and Giresun.
