Organized by Turkish Catastrophic Insurance Pool (TCIP/DASK) for the fifth year with the aim of increasing the awareness of the need for earthquake-resistant building and offering civil engineering students a chance to work in the design, analysis and model-building phases for earthquake-resistant high-rise buildings, Earthquake-Resistant Building Design Competition is now at the stage of preliminary registration. The applications for preliminary registrations will be received over http://www.daskbinatasarimi.com/hemen-katil until 21 December 2018. After the finalization of applications, projects will be evaluated by the judges and the Technical Consultancy Committee; which will determine the projects eligible to compete in the finals.
İsmet Güngör, Coordinator at TCIP, stated that Earthquake-Resistant Building Design Competition was organized by TCIP for the first time in Turkey with the aim of strengthening awareness about earthquakes starting from universities. He added: “In order to be able to build a safe future with resistant buildings, we first need civil engineers with high level of awareness about earthquakes. The goal of our traditional competition is to offer civil engineering students a chance to work in the design and model-building phases for earthquake-resistant and high-rise buildings, introduce them to the profession of earthquake engineering, and of course, increase the awareness for the importance of earthquake-resistant buildings. I wish the best of luck for all the teams that will compete in our competition which is expected with great excitement throughout the year.”
