Anadolu Sigorta Won the First Prize in the Field of "The Future of Artificial Intelligence" at IDC DX 2021

Anadolu Sigorta, which received an important award in the ”Future of Artificial Intelligence“ category at the ”IDC Turkey Digital Transformation Awards 2021“, won the first prize with the project ”Detection of Damage Problems by Machine Learning".
Stating that they are very pleased to win the award with the application of “Machine Learning Detection of Damage Problems”, which is one of the digital transformation projects they have been investing in for many years, Anadolu Sigorta Deputy General Manager Mehmet Abacı said: “Before implementing our project, in the step of editing damage files, the amount of uncertainty related to this file was determined and assigned according to experience or rule sets. The fact that the determined amount of suspensions was different from the actual amount of suspensions had a negative impact on the investment processes for our company. Using machine learning algorithms, we have developed a data analytics process in which we estimate the opening and suspending amounts of damage files close to reality. Our first model, which we have implemented, has started to make estimates for inpatient provision in the health sector. In residential cases, the amount of suspensions assigned during the opening of the file can be determined with 90 percent accuracy compared to the old method. In this way, we have achieved a 15 percent improvement in the total amount of suspensions for health branch provision in the last six months. In this way, the amount allocated for damage payments became the closest to the amount that should have been and the amounts directed to the investment were increased.”

Explaining that they continue to support the company's processes with data-centric decision support methods thanks to data analytics flows and damage file uncertain forecasting projects, Abacı said that they continue to work to further increase the benefit they receive by integrating their projects into other branches.

More than 150 projects competed in the Digital Transformation Awards organized by IDC Turkey this year with the theme of “The Rise of the Digital Economy and the New Agenda of CEOs”.
