Generali Sigorta strengthens its position in the sector

Generali Group continues to strengthen its leadership in the current sunday by completing the tender offer process for the acquisition of Cattolica Assicurazioni with the agreement aimed at ensuring the merger of the two organizations.

Regarding the acquisition, Generali Group CEO Philippe Donnet said: “This transaction will further strengthen Generali's leadership in the Italian insurance market and its position among Europe's largest insurance groups in line with the objectives of the 'Generali 2021' strategic plan. The positive feedback we received from the market supports the success of our offer and timing. The transaction will enable further integration of the business models of Generali and Cattolica Assicurazioni, which began with the partnership signed in June 2020 and has since provided significant value creation for all stakeholders.”

Marco Sesana, Country Manager and CEO Generali Italia and CEO of Global Business Lines, said “The transaction with Cattolica will be beneficial for all stakeholders, especially customers and employees, while providing support to the real economy. The transaction will allow to improve the characteristics of Cattolica Assicurazioni with the use of Generali Italia's technology and innovation. I would like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome all Cattolica  Assicurazioni colleagues and representatives; it will be among our priorities to come together in the coming months and talk about the benefits of being a part of a large international organization. We are also committed to serving local communities as well as promoting sustainable economic growth.

Generali's tender offer for the shares of Cattolica is in line with the "Generali 2021" strategic plan. The transaction will allow Generali to continue to diversify its business, particularly in the non-life segment, and will fulfill the Group's commitment to profitable growth while creating value for customers, consistent with Generali's Lifetime Partnership objective.

A good integration plan is created based on a number of rules. With this integration, Generali is expected to benefit from the current strategic partnership as well as from successful integrations in its past.

Generali also aims to create important synergies with this association by taking advantage of the power that the Group has.
