QATAR
Qatar, which is a Persian Gulf country located on the
eastern Arabian Peninsula, has the second-highest
income per capita thanks to increasing oil prices and
its natural gas reserves. Being a rapidly developing
country like other gulf countries in the Middle Eastern,
Qatar’s sole land is neighboring Saudi Arabia.
The rest of its territory is surrounded by the Persian Gulf, and it is bordered
by Bahrain on the northwest, Saudi Arabia on the west and south, the United
Arab Emirates on the east, and Iran on the north. While the winter is drought
and mild, the summer is very hot and humid. While oil, fish, and natural gas
are natural resources of the country, it has a very low volume of cultivated
land and forest.

Having a population of 2,479,995, Qatar is one of the countries of strategic
significance being close to large oil fields. Most of the population is accumu-
lated around Doha, the capital, located in the eastern part of the country. The
official language of the country is Arabic, and the secondly-used language is
English. In a country where at least 67 percent of the population is Muslim,
more than 77 percent of the population consists of men.
70.6 percent of the population of Qatar is between the age of 25-54. 12.8
percent of the population is between the age of 0-14, 11.7 percent is between
15-24, and 1 percent is 65 and over. While the average age of the country is
33.7, the average age of the men is 35 and the average age of the women is
28.2 Having a population growth rate of 1.23 percent, Qatar ranks 79th in
world population growth rate comparison. Life expectancy in the country is
79.5 years. The literacy rate of Qatar is known as 93.5 percent.
