Premium production increased by more than 50% in the third quarter

In the third quarter, total premium production increased by more than 50%, reaching TRY 856 billion. While the highest premium growth continued to be recorded in the life line with an increase of 80.98%, the lines with the largest market share remained liability and health insurance.

According to the data announced by the Insurance Association of Türkiye (TSB) at the end of September 2025, total premium production in the insurance sector increased by 50.18% compared to the end of the third quarter of 2024, reaching TRY 856 billion 834 million. During this period, premium production in non-life branches rose by 45.92% to TRY 731 billion 453 million, while life insurance premium production increased by 80.98% to TRY 125 billion 380 million. 

 

As of the end of September, the branch with the highest premium production was liability insurance, comprising motor, aviation, marine vehicles, and general liability lines, accounting for 28.04% of the sector’s total premium production. In this period, the health branch ranked second with a share of 17.23%, followed by the life branch in third place with 14.63%. The fire and natural disasters branch held a share of 13.61%, motor insurance accounted for 12.74%, general losses for 8.58%, accident insurance for 1.92%, and marine insurance for 1.04%.

 

By the end of the third quarter of the year, as in the previous period, the highest increase in premium production continued to be recorded in the life branch. Compared to the same period of the previous year, premium production in this branch increased by 80.98%, while the health branch ranked second among the branches with the highest premium growth, with an increase of 61.49%. During this period, premium production increased by 49.46% in liability lines, 48.53% in general losses, 36.33% in fire and natural disasters, 31.88% in motor insurance, 30.29% in accident insurance, and 22.18% in marine insurance.

As of the end of September 2025, in the overall premium production ranking covering both life and non-life branches, Türkiye Sigorta A.Ş. continued to rank first with premium production of TRY 105 billion 134 million and a market share of 12.27%. Allianz Sigorta maintained its second position with TRY 78 billion 557 million in premium production and a 9.17% market share, while Anadolu Anonim Türk Sigorta Şirketi retained third place with TRY 67 billion 918 million in premium production and a 7.93% market share. During this period, AXA Sigorta ranked fourth with premium production of TRY 58 billion 979 million and a market share of 6.88%, followed by HDI Sigorta in fifth place with TRY 36 billion 802 million in premium production and a 4.30% market share. In this period, the top three companies with the highest premium production accounted for 29.37% of total premium production, while the top five companies accounted for 40.54%.

During this period, the ranking of the top five companies with the highest premium production in both non-life and life branches remained unchanged.

 

In the non-life branches, the companies with the highest premium production continued to be Türkiye Sigorta, Allianz Sigorta, Anadolu Anonim Türk Sigorta Şirketi, AXA Sigorta, and HDI Sigorta. In the life branch, the ranking of premium production proceeded as Türkiye Hayat ve Emeklilik, AgeSA Hayat ve Emeklilik, Viennalife Emeklilik ve Hayat, Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik, and Garanti BBVA Emeklilik ve Hayat.
