LEYLA CAFE SUNSET GRILL & BAR
The view, the sushi menu, the wine cellar… There are lots of
reasons to choose Sunset.
You can leave yourselves to the welcoming arms of Sunset
in case of any signature related event: either for a marriage
proposal, or a business contract. For years, the restaurant
has managed to preserve its place in the list of 10 things
that must be experienced in İstanbul. As the name suggests,
Sunset is located on a spot where you can view the sunset
from the largest spectrum of the city. With its impressive
view and a decoration that reflects urban elegance, Sunset
offers its guests an international menu that ranges from sushi
to traditional Turkish flavors. The venue has a special Jap-
anese menu prepared by the Japanese chef Hiroki Takemura.
Hüseyin Arslan is the chef of the Turkish and international
menu. A very impressive and special characteristic of the res-
taurant is the fact that they grow their own wine and an herb
garden that provides the ingredients for some of the food and
beverages.
The venue in Cihangir is owned by Tangül Özer, İbrahim
Soğukdal and Deniz Türkali. Architectural design is the joint
work of Ofis Mimarlık and Emel Güntaş. The café offers 10
different kinds of coffee. You should definitely try their home-
made Turkish bagels, breads and pêche melba dessert. Leyla
Café can host up to 100 people, adding the sidewalk to its
capacity under good weather conditions. Ayşe Tolga says that
she likes the neighborhood café design of this place. It is a
spacious venue with its high ceilings. The center bar is the first
place to be filled up by the frequenters. They have a black-
board of announcements where you can follow up the daily
menu.
