Total number of participants that joined the
Individual Pension System (BES) during the
first quarter of the year reached 6 million

811 thousand people, while number of
participants that joined via auto-enrollment
constituted a majority of those participants
with 5 million 258 thousand. Total fund size

of BES reached 81 billion 304 million TL, 5
billion 495 million TL of which belonged to
auto-enrollment participants.

According to the statistics by Pension Monitoring Center (E.G.M.)
as of 23.12.2018, total number of BES participants decreased by
2 percent over the same period of previous year and went down to
6 million 811 thousand. During the first half of 2019, number of
auto-enrollment participants increased by 37.07 percent over the
same period of last year, reaching 5 million 258 thousand people.

At the end of the first quarter, overall fund size of BES grew by
15.59 percent and reached 81 billion 304 million TL compared to
the first quarter of 2018. Fund size belonging to auto-enrollment
participants increased by 126 percent, up to 5 billion 495 million
TL.

At the end of the first quarter of 2019, total amount of contribu-
tions gained from BES participants reached 59 billion 448 million
TL, while number of contracts reached 8 million 83 thousand. To-
tal invested amount stood at 58 billion 501 million TL.
