                                                              Please tell us briefly about the last year of DASK's activities.

                                                              DASK has provided financial security to insured homeowners
                                                              against earthquake and earthquake-related fire, explosion, land-
                                                              slide, and tsunami risks with Compulsory Earthquake Insurance
                                                              since 2000. While Compulsory Earthquake Insurance offers resi-
                                                              dential security based on an independent department, it also tries
                                                              to create an earthquake coverage pool for our country.

                                                              Compulsory earthquake insurance against earthquake measures
                                                              is one of the most potent financial visibility, awareness, and own-
                                                              ership  of our  ongoing  efforts  to promote  policy.  We continue
                                                              with great devotion and enthusiasm.

                                                              As a Natural Disaster Insurance Institution, our priority is to
                                                              move  the  insurance  rate  to  100  percent  nationwide  and  thus
                                                              minimize the costs that our State will incur in a possible major
                                                              earthquake. In this context, we are carrying out many studies
                                                              together and aim to implement them gradually.

                                                              In the past year, we have acted with the awareness that our work
                                                              to increase our financial and operational strength is greatly im-
                                                              portant for our goal of 100 percent insurance. We are direct-
                                                              ing our studies in this direction by considering the possible big
                                                              Istanbul earthquake. As of today, we have increased our dam-
                                                              age pay capacity to TL 46 billion to have sufficient resources
                                                              available concerning our potential obligations in case of a pos-
                                                              sible earthquake. This capacity, created entirely independently
                                                              of state resources, will be used only for compensation for earth-
                                                              quake-related damages that will occur in the homes of Compul-
                                                              sory Earthquake Insurance policyholders.
