Allianz Türkiye Became the Main Sponsor of National Para Swimmer Defne Kurt, Who Made History in Turkish Sports

Allianz Türkiye has expanded its support for inspiring athletes by becoming the main sponsor of national para swimmer Defne Kurt. Announcing the new sponsorship with a special film that tells Defne Kurt’s story of perseverance and determination, Allianz Türkiye once again demonstrates its belief in the transformative power of sport with the message ''Together with Hope.''

As the Global Insurance Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Allianz continues to support young athletes and accompany them on their journeys. In line with this approach, Allianz Türkiye has signed a new sponsorship agreement with national athlete Defne Kurt and has begun supporting her successful journey. This new collaboration between Allianz Türkiye and Defne Kurt stands out as part of the company’s long-term vision in the field of sports. Allianz aims to contribute to the proliferation of inspiring stories in society by supporting not only athletes’ performances but also their dreams and potential.

Having been introduced to water at the age of just one, Defne Kurt faced significant physical challenges for a long time due to a spinal fracture she suffered following an unfortunate accident. Despite this, she continued to fight against difficulties with determination, driven by her passion for swimming, and achieved 107 records across 86 tournaments. With five championships she secured at the World Championship held in Singapore last year, Kurt became the first Turkish athlete to win five gold medals at a single world championship.

Allianz Türkiye accompanies athletes on their journey

Allianz, one of the main partners of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements since 2021, will continue this partnership until 2032. Continuing its collaborations with national athletes who stand out with their international achievements, such as Sümeyye Boyacı, Mete Gazoz, Merve Dinçel, and Ceren Reyhan Yıldırım, Allianz Türkiye aims to spread the Olympic spirit to wider audiences and encourage young people to engage in sports.

Most recently, with its “Dağ Gibi Arkandayız” (We Stand Behind You Like a Mountain) project, Allianz Türkiye introduced girls from Erzurum to skiing and aims to support three successful girls for approximately 10 years, up to their first coaching certification exam.
