TARSİM Delegation Paid a Visit to Spain

The TARSİM delegation, led by Dr. Ahmet Bağcı, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and Chairman of the TARSİM Board of Directors, paid a visit to Madrid, Spain, on April 13–14 with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of agricultural insurance.

Within the scope of the program, which was carried out with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Sigortacılık ve Özel Emeklilik Düzenleme ve Denetleme Kurumu, and the Tarım Sigortaları Havuz İşletmesi (Supervision and Regulation Agency for Insurance and Private Pensions (SEDDK), and the Agricultural Insurance Pool Management Company (TARSİM)), meetings were held with representatives of Agroseguro, Spain’s agricultural insurance system, as well as officials from Mapfre Re.

During the meetings, where information was exchanged on new practices and digital solutions in agricultural insurance, private sector experiences were shared by evaluating the management of natural disasters and various risks increasing due to global climate change, sustainable financing models, and mechanisms aimed at stabilizing producers’ income. In addition, mutual wishes were expressed for the continuation and strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in the field of agricultural insurance as well as in many other areas.
